This Roman shade is not made from the same fabric as our shades: it is sewn in a workroom, in a drapery fabric, like a curtain folded into horizontal pleats instead of hanging vertically. The result is dressier, more textured, and coordinates with our custom curtain collections. A blackout lining is available as an option, to add light control to the look.

- Four fold stylesFlat for a crisp finish, folded for defined lines, cascade for soft, overlapping folds, or rounded for a drape made of curves. Drapery fabric allows all four styles, whereas shade fabric always stays flat.
- Optional blackout liningWe add a blackout lining behind the drapery fabric to block the light, without losing the shade's dressy look.
- No accessible loopThe child-safe covered chain (the chain is enclosed in a rigid chain cover, and a two-button handle slides along it) or a Somfy motor.

Drapery Roman shade or full curtain?
A Roman shade stays compact: once raised, it tucks up at the top of the window without covering the wall. For the fullness of a large curtain or a Ripple Fold style, look at our custom curtains instead. The drapery Roman shade gives you the fabric and texture of a curtain in a shade format.

Two ways to operate a drapery Roman shade at home, both with no accessible loop.
Warranty. The Roman shade in drapery fabric is covered for 5 years by Le Gars des Stores (fabric, mechanism and installation); the Somfy motor, if applicable, for 5 years. Only accidental damage isn't covered: we replace it, but it's billed.
Our warranties are in addition to the warranties provided by law.

How is it different from a classic Roman shade?
This one is sewn in drapery fabric, in a sewing workroom: dressier and more textured, with a blackout lining available. The other version, in shade fabric, hangs straighter and crisper, and generally costs less.
What is the difference between the fold styles?
Flat: the fabric hangs straight; folds only appear as the shade rises. Folded: defined folds, visible even with the shade down. Cascade: soft, overlapping folds. Rounded: a drape made of curves. All four styles are offered in drapery fabric only; shade fabric stays flat.
Can I get full darkness with this shade?
With the optional blackout lining, yes, through the fabric. As with any roller or Roman shade, a sliver of light may come through at the sides depending on the installation; we will show you this at your home.
Will it coordinate with my curtains?
That is exactly the idea: the fabric comes from the same collections as our custom curtains, so we can match a drapery Roman shade to a curtain in the same room, or in a neighbouring room.
How much does it cost?
More than a Roman shade in shade fabric, because drapery fabric and workroom sewing cost more. Text us a photo of your windows with approximate measurements (width × height, in inches) at (514) 967-3629 to get started; the firm price comes after the measurements are verified: at the in-home consultation, or with your true measurements if you order yourself.
