19 motors, one principle: no more chain, no more cord. A button, an app or your voice.
01 — Our motors
Remote or TaHoma app, up to 200 m of range. The simplest and most widely used. 11 motors
Requires a TaHoma or Ysia bridge. Every plugged-in motor extends the home's Zigbee network.
Wired, for building management systems (Somfy SDN). Mainly commercial.
Wired, no radio: a wall switch or an IGC controller. The lowest price, mainly commercial.
02 — Why motorize

Nothing within children's reach. Without even thinking about it.
Several blinds on the same channel: everything opens or closes together.
Too heavy or too high for a chain? The right motor takes care of it.
With TaHoma: schedules, scenes, closing at sunset.
03 — Scenes
With TaHoma, the blinds follow the sun, your schedules and your habits.

7 a.m.
A schedule opens the blinds with the sunrise, or with your alarm.
7 p.m.
A “good night” button closes everything. Or the blinds close on their own, at sunset.
One channel
Several blinds on the same channel: the whole room closes at the same time.
Remotely
Remote monitoring to check that a window is properly closed before you leave on a trip.
04 — How to choose
Three criteria give you the right motor: torque, power and protocol. Torque ranges from 1.1 Nm (28 series, small windows) to 9 Nm (40 series, large heavy shades). Outdoors, the Maestria+ 50 motors for ZIP screens go from 10 to 50 Nm.
No wires, one visit: the choice for renovations. An occasional recharge.
A small panel in the window recharges the battery. Ideal for a blind that is hard to reach.
Low voltage, no charging. Wiring planned before the drywall: new construction.
On an ordinary outlet or hard-wired. The most powerful for its size.
05 — Controls and home automation
For RTS motors: remotes, wireless wall keypads and accessories that extend or relay the radio signal. An RTS control does not operate Zigbee motors. 11 products
For Zigbee motors: Ysia remotes and the DecoFlex Zigbee wall keypad. Zigbee motors do not respond to any RTS control.
The TaHoma switch connects RTS and Zigbee motors to the app: schedules, scenes and voice control. The smart plug strengthens the Zigbee network.
For WireFree motors with a lithium-ion battery: charger, magnetic charging, external battery and solar panel.
For 24 V wired motors: the panel that powers 5 to 20 motors from a single 120 V circuit.
For wired 120 V Somfy motors, such as the Sonesse 40 WT: wall switches, the IGC 4n1 controller and its RTS receiver. Connection by an electrician.
Somfy's simplest RTS remote: a single channel, to operate one shade or one group of shades with one touch.
Five channels in a compact remote: each shade, or each room, gets its own.
The Situo 5 with a tilt wheel: to angle the slats of a Venetian blind or the sheer vanes of a Shangri-La, one notch at a time.
Sixteen channels and a screen: each shade or group has a name, so you always know what you are operating.
A wall switch with no wires and no electrical box: it goes next to the light switch and operates one shade or one group.
Five channels on the wall, no wires: one keypad to operate the shades of a room, or a whole floor, separately.
A wireless switch that mounts on the wall, with no cut-out and no wiring: one shade or one group, with one touch.
Four channels on a small square mounted on the wall, with no cut-out and no wiring: each shade, or each group, gets its own.
When the control is too far from the motor: the repeater picks up the RTS signal and sends it on.
The bridge between a home automation system, or any relay control, and Somfy RTS motors: one channel, battery powered.
Adds RTS radio control to a wired 120 V Somfy motor, and connects it to sun and wind sensors.
The remote for Somfy Zigbee motors: one channel, the “my” button and a light that confirms each command.
Five channels for Zigbee motors: each shade, or each room, gets its own.
The wall keypad for Zigbee motors: four channels, battery powered, surface-mount or in-wall.
The hub that connects your Somfy shades to an app: schedules, scenes and voice control, for Zigbee and RTS motors alike.
A plug that turns a lamp on and off from the TaHoma app, and strengthens your shades' Zigbee network.
The wall charger for Somfy WireFree lithium-ion battery motors and the external battery: 6 ft cable, charging light.
Two parts to charge through a magnetic connection: the adaptor stays on the motor, the rigid cable links the charger.
The rechargeable battery for WireFree external battery motors: 12 V, 2,600 mAh, placed behind the shade or in the headrail.
A discreet solar panel, placed in the window, that charges the shade's lithium-ion battery: no more manual charging.
The enclosure that powers 5 to 20 Somfy 24 V motors from 120 V: a single power point for the whole project.
The wall-mounted enclosure that operates up to four wired Somfy motors, one by one or together, with three intermediate positions.
The receiver that adds RTS remotes to an IGC or GCS controller: groups of wired motors are operated wirelessly.
The hard-wired wall switch for wired 120 V Somfy motors: up and down, right at the room entrance.
The Somfy hub that connects your motors to a single app: schedules, scenes, and voice control with Alexa, Google Home and Apple Home.
An RTS motor works very well with its remote alone. A Zigbee motor needs a bridge (TaHoma or Ysia).
06 — Our full lineup
The 28 and 30 series fit 1 1/2 in or 2 in tubes. The 40 series requires a 2 in tube or a heavy duty tube; the motor therefore determines the tube, the hardware and the brackets. For exterior shades and zip systems, we move up to the Maestria+ 50 motors.
For standard-size blinds, up to 110 in wide. Torque from 1.1 to 2 newton-metres.

For large shades and heavy fabrics. Torque from 3 to 9 newton-metres.
The 2 in tube is mainly needed beyond 110 in wide. At that size, the blind falls outside the standard price grid: each project is quoted case by case, after reviewing the fabric, the load and the structure.

Within the same family, more power means more length — except for wired models, where the absence of a battery frees up space. The noise level, however, does not follow power: the two quietest motors in the lineup, at 40 dB, are also among the most powerful.

07 — Frequently asked questions
We start with three questions. How much torque is needed for the size and weight of the shade? Battery or wired, depending on whether the wall is finished or under construction? RTS or Zigbee, depending on the type of control and your connected home? We answer them with you before choosing the motor.
In a renovation, a battery motor avoids opening the walls but needs an occasional recharge. In new construction or a major renovation, wired means no recharging, as long as the wiring is planned before the drywall goes up. Power is 24 V low voltage or 120 V, depending on the motor.
RTS controls the blind by radio frequency, with a remote or TaHoma. Its range can reach 200 m in open air depending on the motor, but walls reduce it. Zigbee creates a mesh network; permanently powered motors can extend its range. Ysia serves as a compatible control, while TaHoma adds the app, schedules and integrations.
Not for RTS: a remote is enough for everyday use. Yes, to use the app, schedules, voice control (Alexa, Google, Apple) and remote monitoring. For Zigbee, a bridge (TaHoma or Ysia) is required for any control, even local.
Torque (newton-metres) determines what the motor can lift. 28 and 30 series (1.1 to 2 Nm): most residential blinds, on a 1½ or 2 in tube. 40 series (3 to 9 Nm): large shades, heavy blackout fabrics, blinds more than 110 in wide (quoted case by case).
Yes. Certified Somfy Expert, authorized distributor and installer: measuring, wiring if needed, motor installation, programming of the limits and of the app or remote. A poorly adjusted motor closes a blind poorly; we make sure that never happens.
