01 — At a glance
What it does, simply.
The Smoove 1 RTS Pure II is a battery-powered wireless wall switch. It operates one motorized shade, or a group of shades paired to the same channel, with three buttons: up, “my” and down. An indicator light confirms each command sent.
It surface-mounts on its mounting plate: no drywall cut-out, no electrical box. It comes with a white frame. For another colour, you buy only the frame: remove the white frame and put the coloured one in its place.
Surface mount
Fastened to its mounting plate, with no drywall cut-out and no electrical box.
One channel
One shade, or several shades programmed together that move with one touch.
“my” button
Stops the shade while it moves or sends it to your favourite position.
Interchangeable frame
White included. Black or matte silver: $18 per frame, sold separately.
CR2032 battery included
Somfy states about five years of battery life at four commands a day.
Buttons to activate
Out of the box, a long press on the On/Off button activates the buttons (green light).

04 — What to consider
Before you buy, good to know…
- Activate it before first use. According to Somfy's instructions, the front buttons are disabled by default: a long press on the On/Off button, on the back, turns them on.
- A single channel. To operate up to four shades or groups separately, the Smoove 4 RTS.
- RTS only. It does not operate Zigbee motors: those need an Ysia, a DecoFlex Zigbee or the TaHoma switch.
- Somfy recommends using it in the same room as the shades. Its spec sheet states reliable operation at 20 ft (6 m), and up to 65 ft (20 m) under ideal conditions; the instructions and the catalogue give 50 m in open field.
05 — Frequently asked questions
What customers ask.
Does it take an electrician to install?
No. It runs on a battery and surface-mounts on its mounting plate: no wires, no electrical box, no drywall cut-out.
How do I get a black or silver frame?
The Smoove comes with a white frame. You order only the frame you want, black or matte silver, at $18: remove the white frame and put the coloured one in its place. According to Somfy's spec sheet, the frame is interchangeable.
The buttons don't respond: why?
Out of the box, the buttons are disabled. According to Somfy's instructions, a long press on the On/Off button activates them; the green light confirms it.
Smoove or DecoFlex?
Both are wireless RTS wall switches. The Smoove surface-mounts, with no cut-out; the DecoFlex fits into an opening in the drywall, Decora style, next to a light switch.
Can the Smoove be engraved?
Yes. Somfy offers a custom-engraved Smoove 1 ($146 MSRP), with its official engraving order form in the documentation below.
Do you install in Montreal, Sherbrooke and the Eastern Townships?
Yes. Le Gars des Stores serves the West Island and Montreal, Vaudreuil-Dorion, the South Shore, the North Shore, western Laval and the Eastern Townships (Sherbrooke, Magog); elsewhere, depending on the project. We handle measuring, made-to-measure ordering, installation and programming.
