01 — At a glance

What it does, simply.

The IGC 4n1 (Individual Group Control) is a wall-mounted steel enclosure that operates up to four wired (WT) 120 V Somfy motors. Each motor is operated alone or in a group: up, down, stop and three intermediate positions, at 25, 50 and 75% open by default, adjustable motor by motor.

It is operated with DecoFlex dry contact keypads connected by CAT-5e cable, or with RTS remotes through the IGC 4n1 receiver. Several controllers can be daisy-chained to move a whole façade from a single keypad, and Somfy publishes diagrams for connecting it to a third-party system by dry contact.

  • Four motors

  • Three intermediate positions

  • Daisy-chained controllers

Two master ports to link several IGC 4n1 units and operate everything from a single keypad.

  • Wired keypads

Four CAT-5e keypad ports; up to 300 ft of cable for dry contacts.

  • Integration

Dry contact control from a third-party relay: Somfy diagrams for Lutron QSE-IO and animeo Solo.

04 — What to consider

Before you buy, good to know…

  • For wired motors only. The IGC 4n1 operates 120 V Somfy WT motors (400, 500 and 600 series), such as the Sonesse 40 WT in our lineup. Our RTS and Zigbee motors have their own radio and don't need it.
  • Keypad required. Somfy states that the DecoFlex dry contact keypad (1811402, $78) is needed. CAT-5e cable is not included.
  • Limits set beforehand. The controller does not set the motors' limits, it detects them. After a power outage, all shades go up to their upper limit, according to Somfy.
  • 120 V connection by an electrician: one motor per terminal, 5 A at most per motor.

05 — Frequently asked questions

What customers ask.

Does it work with your RTS motors?

No. It operates wired (WT) 120 V motors. RTS and Zigbee motors receive their commands by radio and don't need a controller.

What happens after a power outage?

According to Somfy, all shades go up to their upper limit when power returns.

Can it be connected to a home automation system?

Yes, by dry contact, from a relay in the system. Somfy publishes wiring diagrams for Lutron QSE-IO and animeo Solo; we validate the integration when designing the project.

Do you install in Montreal, Sherbrooke and the Eastern Townships?

Yes. Le Gars des Stores serves the West Island and Montreal, Vaudreuil-Dorion, the South Shore, the North Shore, western Laval and the Eastern Townships (Sherbrooke, Magog); elsewhere, depending on the project. We handle measuring, made-to-measure ordering, installation and programming.
