01 — At a glance
What it does, simply.
The Smoove 4 RTS Pure II is a battery-powered, four-channel wireless wall switch. The channel button selects the shade or group, and its light confirms the choice; then you raise, lower or call up the “my” position.
Like the Smoove 1, it surface-mounts on its mounting plate, with no drywall cut-out and no wiring. It comes with a white frame; for another colour, you buy only the frame, remove the white one and put the coloured frame in its place.
Four channels
Up to four shades or four groups, each on its own channel.
Channel lights
The light shows the selected channel and confirms the signal was sent.
Surface mount
Fastened to its mounting plate, with no cut-out and no electrical box.
Interchangeable frame
White included. Black or matte silver: $18 per frame, sold separately.
CR2032 battery included
Somfy states about five years of battery life at four commands a day.
Buttons to activate
Out of the box, a long press on the On/Off button activates the buttons (green light).

04 — What to consider
Before you buy, good to know…
- Activate it before first use. The front buttons are disabled by default: a long press on the On/Off button, on the back, turns them on (same as the Smoove 1, according to Somfy's spec sheet).
- Beyond four groups, the DecoFlex WireFree RTS 5-channel, the Situo 5 or the Telis 16.
- RTS only. It does not operate Zigbee motors.
- Somfy recommends using it in the same room as the shades. Its spec sheet states reliable operation at 20 ft (6 m), and up to 65 ft (20 m) under ideal conditions; the catalogue gives 50 m in open field.
05 — Frequently asked questions
What customers ask.
Can all four shades be operated at once?
Yes, if they are programmed together on the same channel. Each channel operates one shade or one group of shades, according to Somfy.
How do I get a black or silver frame?
The Smoove comes with a white frame. You order only the frame you want, black or matte silver, at $18: remove the white frame and put the coloured one in its place.
Does it take an electrician to install?
No. It runs on a battery and surface-mounts on its mounting plate: no wires, no electrical box, no cut-out.
Does it work with a Zigbee motor?
No. It is an RTS control. Zigbee motors are operated with an Ysia remote, a DecoFlex Zigbee keypad or the TaHoma switch.
Do you install in Montreal, Sherbrooke and the Eastern Townships?
Yes. Le Gars des Stores serves the West Island and Montreal, Vaudreuil-Dorion, the South Shore, the North Shore, western Laval and the Eastern Townships (Sherbrooke, Magog); elsewhere, depending on the project. We handle measuring, made-to-measure ordering, installation and programming.
