What it changes
The benefits
A Zip Track solar shade and an aluminum roller shutter, one behind the other, in the same opening. In summer, the shade stops the sun and mosquitoes without blocking the view; in the evening, or when the pool house is closed for the winter, the shutter provides privacy, protects the furniture and forms a real barrier. Done in Chambly on a pool house: two of each.
Sun control in summer, security in winter
In summer, the shade stops the heat before the glass and keeps the view. When the house is empty or you close up for the season, the shutter takes over.
Mosquitoes stay outside
The Zip Track shade closes the gap at the sides and bottom: you enjoy the pool house or the deck without the bugs.
Privacy at night
A solar shade lets people see inside once the lights are on. In the evening, you lower the shutter: nobody can see in anymore.
The pool house closed in winter
With the shutter down, the pool house is closed: the furniture is protected and the snow stays outside until spring.
Made or assembled in Canada
The Zip Track shade is made in Canada; the roller shutter is assembled in Canada.

How it works
- The Zip Track shadeA solar shade held in a track on each side: it doesn't flap in the wind, and insects can't get in at the sides or the bottom. From inside, you see out.
- The roller shutterInterlocking aluminum slats that roll up into a housing above the opening. Closed: total darkness, a good part of the noise cut out, and a physical barrier in front of the opening.
- One behind the otherBoth systems are installed on the same opening, one behind the other. You lower the shade, the shutter, or both, depending on the season and the temperature.

What about ice?
The same rule as for our exterior shades and our roller shutters: we never lower the shade or the shutter when there's ice or freezing rain in the tracks, and we never force a system that's stuck.

Somfy motorization
The shade and the shutter each have their own Somfy motor. You control them with the remote, the app or your voice.
Warranty. The Zip Track shade and the roller shutter are each covered by a 5-year warranty from Le Gars des Stores, installation included. The Somfy motors are also covered for 5 years. A system that was forced, or operated while the tracks were caught in ice, isn't covered by the warranty.
Our warranties are in addition to the warranties provided by law.

We answer
Why not just a Zip Track shade?
The shade filters light and heat, but it's still a fabric: it doesn't completely hide the interior at night, and it offers no security against a break-in. The shutter, on the other hand, gives total darkness and forms a real barrier.
Why not just a roller shutter?
A closed shutter blocks everything: light, view and air. The Zip Track shade keeps the view and stops the sun and the mosquitoes. With both, you don't have to choose.
How much does it cost?
It depends on the size of the opening, the fabric and the type of shutter. Text us a photo of the opening with approximate measurements (width × height, in inches) at (514) 967-3629 and we'll quickly give you a first idea; the firm price comes after the measurements are verified.
Where do you install?
The West Island and Montreal, Vaudreuil-Dorion, the South Shore, the North Shore, western Laval, and the Eastern Townships with our local team. Elsewhere, depending on the project.
