What it changes
The benefits
The sliding panel does the same job as a vertical blind, but with wide fabric panels instead of narrow vanes — a more contemporary look, for very large openings. The fabric comes from the same catalogue as our roller shades: solar, blackout, or anything already available in that range.
Made for very large openings
A full-width picture window or a sliding patio door, covered without multiplying narrow vanes.
A more contemporary look
Wide flat panels look more current than a vertical blind with vanes, while keeping the same function.
The same fabric quality as our shades
Solar, blackout: the same proven catalogue, not a separate fabric with less choice.
Can be used as a room divider
Also used to divide a large open space, without building a wall.
Child safe
The draw wand system has no cord or chain.
How it works
How it works
- Wide panels on a trackEach panel is a piece of fabric stretched over a light frame, hung from a ceiling track — like a vertical blind, but with 12 to 24 in panels instead of 3.5 in vanes.
- The same fabric as our roller shadesSolar, blackout, or any other fabric in our roller shade range: the fabric choice comes from the same catalogue, with the same variety of colours and openness levels.
- The panels slide, or stack to one sideYou push the panels to one side to clear the whole opening, or spread them out to adjust the light gradually.
- A draw wand system, with no cordA rigid draw wand slides the panels, as on our vertical blinds. No cord or chain.

Sliding panels or vertical blind?
The vertical blind, with its narrow vanes, remains the classic choice for a standard patio door. Sliding panels, which are wider, are better suited to very large windows and give a more contemporary look. The choice is as much about style as about the width of the opening.

Frequently asked questions
We answer
What total width can this system cover?
Panels are added according to the width: the larger the opening, the more panels we add on the track. We measure your opening to determine the right number.
Can I choose any of your shade fabrics?
Yes: the fabric catalogue is the same as our roller shades — solar, blackout, all the colours and openness levels already offered.
Sliding panels or vertical blind: which should I choose?
The vertical blind remains the classic choice for a standard patio door. Sliding panels are better suited to very large windows, with a more contemporary look. It's as much about style as about width.
Can they be motorized?
No: sliding panels are operated with a draw wand only. To motorize a large window, we'll look together at the products that can be motorized with Somfy.
How much does it cost?
The price depends on the total width, the number of panels and the fabric chosen. Text us a photo of your window with approximate measurements (width × height, in inches) at (514) 967-3629 to get started; the firm price comes after the measurements are verified: at the in-home consultation, or with your true measurements if you order yourself.
Where do you install them?
The West Island and Montreal, Vaudreuil-Dorion, the South Shore, the North Shore, western Laval, and the Eastern Townships with our team on site. Elsewhere, depending on the project.
