The sheer is the first curtain you install in a room: a light, almost transparent fabric that lets light in while softening what you see through the window. It does not close off the room; it makes it comfortable. We install it alone, on a simple track, or in front of a blackout curtain on a double track: light during the day, darkness in the evening.
The light stays
Unlike a closed blind, a sheer never fully blocks the light: the room stays bright all day.
The view softens
From outside, people can no longer see inside as clearly; from inside, the view remains, filtered rather than cut off.

A sheer gives a window a volume a blind never does: it is a decorating choice as much as a window treatment.

- A light fabricThe sheer is chosen from our collections for its transparency and body: light without being fragile, it hangs with fullness without weighing down the track.
- Your choice of heading styleFlat, French pleat, inverted French pleat, grommets or Ripple Fold: the sheer is made in the heading style you choose, like any of our curtains.
- A single track, or a double trackAlone, on one track: filtered light all the time. In front of a blackout curtain, on a double track: the sheer during the day, the blackout closed in the evening.
- Draw wand or Somfy motorPull a draw wand, like in a hotel, or control a Somfy motor. No chain, no cord on a curtain track.

What a sheer does not do
A sheer does not darken a room and provides no privacy at night with the lights on. For privacy and darkness, we add a blackout curtain, alone or on a double track with the sheer. To adjust the light several times a day, a blind remains more practical than a curtain you open and close once.

Warranty. The track and the installation are covered for 5 years by Le Gars des Stores. The Somfy motor, if there is one, is covered for 5 years. The fabric and the sewing are covered against manufacturing defects.
Our warranties are in addition to the warranties provided by law.

Can I have a sheer on its own, without a blackout curtain?
Yes, absolutely: many of our clients install a sheer on its own, on a simple track, to soften a room without changing its lighting.
Which heading style should I choose for a sheer?
A flat pleat or grommets give a light, contemporary look, suited to the lightness of the fabric. The French pleat adds volume. Ripple Fold gives a continuous wave effect, for a more architectural style. We will show you the options at your home.
Can a blackout curtain be added later?
Often, yes. The first track is almost always installed at the back, against the wall or the window, so the new one goes in front, toward the room. Depending on the effect you want, we can also move the sheer to this front track and put the blackout curtain on the back one. Let us know from the first installation: it makes things simpler.
How much does it cost?
The price depends on the track width, the fabric and the operating system. Text us a photo of the room at (514) 967-3629 to get started; the firm price comes after the measurements are verified: at the in-home consultation, or with your true measurements if you order yourself.
Where do you install?
The West Island and Montreal, Vaudreuil-Dorion, the South Shore, the North Shore, western Laval, and the Eastern Townships with our local team. Elsewhere, depending on the project.
