What it changes
The benefits
Arch, triangle, half-moon, trapezoid, circle window or octagon: a non-standard window requires a template taken directly on site. Wood shutters can keep louvres that tilt; some cellular shades open depending on the shape; wood blinds are generally fixed. We'll confirm the best option once we've seen the window.
No window left bare
An unusual shape is no longer a reason to give up on covering a window.
The choice between functional and decorative
Shutters if you want to be able to adjust the light; fixed cellular or wood if looks come first and the window doesn't need to open.
Exact custom fabrication
The template captures the precise shape of your window — not an approximate standard shape.
How it works
How it works
- A template, alwaysWhatever the product, a special shape starts with a template — a pattern taken directly on your window, which captures the exact shape to reproduce.
- Wood shutters: always functionalThe louvres tilt normally, even in an arch, triangle or half-moon — the only one of the three options that works in every case.
- Cellular shades: depending on the shapeSome shapes can open and close, but it isn't always the best choice depending on the exact shape — we look at that together. Other shapes must be fixed.
- Wood blinds: fixedIn a special shape, the wood blind is made fixed — a decorative panel in the shape of the window.
- Fixed is always an optionWhatever the product, a fixed version is always possible if the function isn't needed for that window.

Functional or fixed: which should I choose?
If you want to be able to adjust the light on this window day to day, wood shutters are the only choice that allows it in a special shape. If the window is more decorative — above a door, for example — a fixed cellular or wood panel may be enough, at a lower cost.
Where it goes
Applications
Arches above doors
Often done as fixed panels, since the light doesn't need to be adjusted day to day.
Triangular or half-moon windows
Common in roof gables — functional shutters or a fixed panel, depending on the need.
Trapezoid windows
Less common shapes, always measured by template.
Operation
No motorization for this family
Special shapes, functional or fixed, can't be motorized — shutters are tilted by hand, and fixed panels have nothing to operate.
Warranty. The warranty follows that of the underlying product: 5 years for wood shutters as well as for fixed cellular or wood shades, on the fabric or wood, the mechanism where applicable, and the installation. Only accidental damage isn't covered.
Our warranties are in addition to the warranties provided by law.

Frequently asked questions
We answer
Can my specially shaped window be functional?
Wood shutters always are. Cellular shades can sometimes open too, depending on the exact shape, but it isn't always the best choice. Wood blinds are always fixed in a special shape.
What is a fixed panel?
A shade made to the exact shape of the window, but that doesn't open or close — a permanent window covering rather than a shade you operate day to day.
How do you take the measurements?
By template: we or our installer make a cardboard or paper pattern, directly on site, to capture the exact shape to reproduce.
Are all shapes possible?
The common shapes — arches (including eyebrow windows and Gothic arches), triangles, half-moons, trapezoids, circle windows, octagons — work well. For an unusual shape, we look together at what can actually be made before committing.
How much does it cost?
Each special shape is priced case by case, after the template is taken. Taking a template for a special shape involves additional fees — we tell you what they are before coming out. Text us a photo of your window at (514) 967-3629 to get started.
Where do you install them?
The West Island and Montreal, Vaudreuil-Dorion, the South Shore, the North Shore, western Laval, and the Eastern Townships with our team on site. Elsewhere, depending on the project.
